Frequently Asked Questions

What does the pre interview entail?

The pre-interview is to introduce ourselves and establish a familiarity with each other. We will determine a comfortable place to conduct the interview, review the interview questions/stories that are most meaningful to the client, and schedule an interview date.

Can there be guests during the interview?

During the pre interview up to 2 guests may join to review questions, however we do require for the interviewee to be the only person present with the interviewer and videographer to avoid distractions and create a judgement free environment. Interviewees are generally more open when speaking to a third party individual.

How much does it cost?

We have four packages available to best fit your budget and needs. Please click on packages to review.

How will I receive the video?

We will provide a physical copy of the video via flash drive as well as a downloadable version to share with family and friends.

Are there limitations on how many people I can share the video with?

No, you may share the video with whomever as many times as you like.

What are the videos used for?

Many of our clients have used the videos to pass on to future generations, celebrations, funeral services, family history remembrances, document important memories, and as a keepsake to live on.

When will I receive the video?

You will receive your completed video within 30 days.

Are interviews limited to Southern California?

Yes, currently we are only doing interviews in Los Angeles County, San Diego County, Riverside County, and Orange County.

How long is the shooting process?

Recording time is dependent on the package you choose and ranges from 1.5 hours to 3 hours. This does not include set up or break down time. Average set up and break down time is approximately 30 minutes.

What is your cancellation policy?

Pre interview fee ($250) is non refundable. Deposit (50% of package) is fully refundable up to 14 days prior to the interview. Final payment is non refundable.

Can I provide input during the interview and/or editing process?

Yes, you may provide input during the pre interview session. The only individuals present during the interview are the interviewee, interviewer, and videographer in order to create a comfortable and relaxed environment.

Who will own the rights to the video?

The purchaser will own the right to the video and decides who it is shared with.

When do I pay?

The $250 pre-interview amount is due at time of booking the pre-interview. Once an interview date is established the deposit (50% of package) is due 30 days prior to the interview. If interview is booked less than 30 days from filming, the deposit is due the day after the pre-interview. Final payment is due 3 days before interview.

What is your rescheduling process?

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can happen. If you need to reschedule we can accommodate a complimentary reschedule with a minimum 24 hour notice. Subsequent reschedules will incur a $125 fee. 

What is your privacy policy?

Your information and videos will never be sold or shared with anyone outside of Living Memories Productions.
